Pysanky Workshop

Join artist and Museum educator Marie Seilus as she teaches the unique techniques used to create the traditional Ukrainian egg decorating art form known as Pysanky. Meaning “to write,” Pysanky uses melted bees wax to write on dyed egg shells to create brightly colored and intricate designs and patterns. Attendees will get a hands-one experience as they learn how to properly use a “kistka” or stylus. Learning the correct order of which the dyes must be used, participants will also discover how to make various symbolic designs. All attendees will create a colorful egg masterpiece to take home.

All supplies will be provided. Open to ages 8 and up. Pre-registration required! Participants may sign-up for either workshop.

Admission is $20 for non-members & $15 for Members (includes all supplies).
