July at the Museum

Exhibit Lecture,  Sunday, July  13th  2 PM

‘A Nest of Tories’: The American vs.  American Battle of Fort Lee, 1781, presented by Todd W. Braisted - The American Revolution was as much a civil war as anything else.  This lecture focuses on Fort Lee and its strong Loyalist claims.  Admission $7 for Non-Members, $5 for seniors and students & $3 for Members.  Advance registration recommended; call 973-377-2982.

Winter in July,  Saturday July 19th  1 PM - 3 PM

Cool off on a hot summer day, making Christmas, Hannukah & Winter-themed crafts to use for decorations in the upcoming winter. Participants will end the program reading the interactive story "The Mitten."  Appropriate for children ages 4-10 (parents must stay with children under 6).  Space is limited to the first 25 registries.  Pre-registration required, call 973-377-2982 x12.  $8 admission for participants, $5 for members and regular admission for all others.

Craftsman of the Year,  Sunday, June 8th  2 PM

Join the Museum’s Board of Trustee’s as they honor local dentist Dr. Samuel Romano as the Craftsman of the Year.  Romano will present a fascinating lecture tracing the evolution of dentistry, which will be followed by a light lunch.  Single Tickets are $35 and Benefactor tickets are $50.  Please RSVP by June 1st.  Tickets can be purchased at the Museum, over the phone at 973-377-2982 x14 or online at www.metc.org.

Learn about common superstitions and phobias.  Create a silly phobia of your own.  Story time

Blue Star Museum Season,  Memorial Day – Veteran’s Day  Regular Hours

Cook Like a Soldier,  Sunday, April 27th  2 PM

Appraisal Day

Sunday, March 9th  2 PM
Nye & Company will offer their appraisal services for the afternoon at the Museum.  Bring one object to learn more about it and find out its value.  Please no wine, coins, stamps, collectibles, sporting memorabilia, swords, guns or Pre-Columbian/ Tribal artifacts.  Admission $25 for non-members and $15 for members with a limit of one object per person.  Space is limited.  Pre-registration require!   Call 973-377-2982 x14. 
 

Lucky Leprechaun Day!

Stuffed Animal Sleepover

Monday, March 31st  4 - 5 PM - Tuesday, April 1st  Regular Hours
Bring your favorite stuffed animal or doll for a sleepover on Monday, March 31st.  Enjoy a snack and story time with your toy and then tuck them in to spend the night at the Museum.  Come back on Tuesday, April 1st between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm to pick-up your stuffed animal, make a craft and find out what mischief they have gotten into during the night!  Appropriate for children 2-6 years old.  Advance registration recommended; call 973-377-2982 x12 for more information.  $3 admission/participant & Regular Admission for all others (includes both day's activities).
